“Developing empathy for the LGBTQ community”

“Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?”–Author Ernest J. Gaines

The sky is becoming flushed red over the LGBTQ community, constant harassment and disparity starting as an alteration. Without an alert the LGBTQ community is ceaselessly stirred with reports of youngsters, siblings, and companions sold out by their neighbours and their moms because of their sexuality. People are not all that lenient towards the community with individual beliefs and age old customs more than not to fault.

The LGBTQ community consists of those who consider themselves lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.

The LGBTQ community has been marginalized and socially excluded from the mainstream society. Due to this people belonging to this community have faced many atrocities like discrimination at workplace, police stations, courts, social events, which leads them to drug addiction and poor economic conditions. Judging by the current mindset of the society it seems that it’s a never ending saga.

There is no short cut solution to the problems faced by LGBTQ community around the world, but that doesn’t mean that one should stop raising voice against it. Though in my opinion, the quickest and most precise way is to change our mindset and become more welcoming as well as loving and accept a human as human irrespective of their preferences, sexual orientation, cast, creed, or religion.
