Roohi is a comedy horror movie in Hindi directed by Hardik Mehta and produced by Dinesh Vijan. The film starred Rajkumar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma. It was released on 11 March, 2021.

The distribution rights of the film were bought by both Netflix and Jio Cinema.

Two kidnappers Bhawra (Rajkumar Rao) and Kattanni (Varun Sharma) living in a village named Bagadpur are contracted by their boss Guniya Bhai (Manav Vij) to kidnap and hide Roohi (Janhvi Kapoor).

During their stay Bhawra and Kattanni realise that Roohi is possessed by a Mudiyapairi which is an evil spirit and her name is Afza. Kattani falls for the spirit and Bhawra fall for Roohi.

To end the menace chimmattipur tells Bhawra that the evil spirit has to be tricked by marrying her to a man who is already married, being a mistress the evil spirit would leave.

Guniya Bhai comes to take Roohi and both leave for Bagadpur. There in Bagadpur the marriage of Roohi begins but is later interrupted. Kattanni goes to get married to Afza in Roohi’s body but the old lady stops him by lying that Kattanni is already married. Afza asks Bhawra to marry her but Roohi stops this and herself gets married to Afza. The movie ends with Roohi and Afza accepting each other.

The way the plot went on, it felt like Bhawra would manage to save Roohi but Roohi married Afza that is with her. Overall the movie is so funny that it is scary!
