What makes a Family?

Maa! Papa! – We are not kids anymore!

I was studying, getting tense. I was switching between my notes and books. I was switching between national and international news. Suddenly, my brother marched into my room and took my phone. I was watching the news related to Lakshadweep (I should write about that).
  • I got puzzled and asked him – what happened?
  • He said – Wait!
  • He than turned the volume to max of my headphone (which he had bought for me) and played this song “Bumbro Bumbro Shyaam Rang Bumbro”
  • And told me – “Don’t forget to enjoy life for the sake of competition”

https://youtu.be/PquZBLuFmwA Please listen to the song.

In a moment my mind, from thinking “What is good for a country? Capitalism or Communism?” went back in time to when I first listened to this song, and I listened to it with him, my brother.

“It was like a film that rolled in front of my eyes… I remember that we wore the same orange-colored shorts that day. I remember we were jumping, dancing, twisting our hands like plucking apples from trees, one hand in the upward position and one in downward position”.

The memory was a little blurry and instead of pungent colours, it was a brownish filter or perhaps a scene shot in the sunset.

All this happened over a span of 10 seconds.

Then my mind brought me back to “today” and a tear rolled down my eye. I don’t know why, perhaps because My Heart was Overwhelmed with Joy.

Now when I write this, “I am amazed how quickly time has passed and we (me & my brother) have grown from a child to an adult. Our parents have also grown with us. The problems are also different. But I think enjoying the times together, overcoming fears and achieving something, anything, sharing sorrow and happiness, cries and laughs, building memories, is what makes a family”.

I’m glad to share this incident with you! I hope you didn’t miss me! I have exams… But I’m eager to hear from you! What’s your cozy, sweet, family incident?
